How blocks appear to studios and freelancers

The timeline adapts depending on whether the viewer is the freelancer, the owning studio, a studio with an active pencil, or a studio with no relationship.

👤 Freelancer View

The freelancer sees the full truth.

• All pencils
• All project names
• All studios
• All challenges
• All dummy blocks
• All DND blocks

When a pencil is challenged, the freelancer sees Challenged and can open the decision modal.

🏢 Owning Studio

• Sees its own pencils with full project names.
• Sees other studios’ blocks as Challengeable or Unavailable.
• Never sees other studios’ project names or notes.
• If their 1st pencil is challenged, they see it in a challenged state, but not the challenger’s details.

🟧 Studio with a 2nd Pencil

• Sees its own 2nd pencil with the project name.
• Sees the 1st pencil above it as Challengeable.
• Can open the block and issue a challenge.
• After challenging, sees Challenged (project-name).

🩶 Studio with No Pencil

• A lone 1st pencil appears as Challengeable.
• A 1st pencil plus a 2nd pencil appears as Unavailable.
• Confirmed or dummy confirmed blocks appear as Unavailable.
• Only empty space is bookable.

If a challenge is active between two other studios, unrelated studios see that time as Unavailable.

Dummy 1st Pencil

• Appears identical to a normal 1st pencil.
• Studio sees Challengeable.
• No project name is shown.

Dummy 2nd Pencil

• Appears identical to a normal 2nd pencil.
• Because there is no owner, no studio can challenge the 1st pencil above it.
• Both blocks appear as Unavailable to everyone except the freelancer.

Dummy Confirmed

• Appears as Unavailable to all studios.
• Cannot be challenged.
