Making Connections

Connections allow freelancers and studios to share calendars, exchange messages and send booking requests. Both sides must be connected before any scheduling can happen.

🔍 How studios discover freelancers

Only studios can browse the network.

Studios can:

  • Open Dashboard → Discover
  • Search freelancers by name, location or role
  • Send connection requests to freelancers already on PencilCase
  • View pending requests and accept or decline incoming ones

This prevents freelancers from overloading studios and keeps the network clean.

📨 How freelancers connect with studios

Freelancers cannot browse studios.

Instead, freelancers connect using the Invite Studio flow:

  1. Go to Dashboard → Invite Studio.
  2. Copy your unique invite link.
  3. Send it directly to your producer or point of contact.

If the studio is new to PencilCase, they will be guided through signup and the connection will be created automatically.

📨 How studios onboard freelancers

Studios can onboard freelancers directly:

  1. Go to Dashboard → Invite Freelancer.
  2. Enter the freelancer’s name and email.
  3. The freelancer receives a signup link with the connection pre-established.
